Hello,
My launch bar is acting like blinking Christmas Lights, on-
off, on-off. My launch bar (Start Menu, Quick Launch,
Systems tray and clock) is located at the top of the
screen, and it is hidden. This was by choice and has
worked fine for the last three months. However, now after
loggin on to Win2K, as soon as the desktop loads, the
launch bar drops down, the desktop icons disappear, the
launch bar retracts, and the icons reappear. This cycle
continues until I bring up the task manager and shutdown.
I've watched the task manager and noticed explorer.exe is
starting and stopping, and the desktop clears and
reappears as a result. I have tried a reboot with Last
Know Good, but no change. I can start the system, logon
normally, but as soon as the desktop appears, the cycke
begins anew. I have tried to repair this with the Windows
2000 CD, but again no change. I also booted into safemode
command prompt, and replaced the explorer.exe with the one
on the CD. Still no change. Anyone have any
suggestions? Thanks for your help. Bob Terry
