Greetings

I am a home user and talking to friends I got two different opinions
on their preferred OS.
One recommendation was win 2000 and the other XP
Not knowing the differences between them, I am seeking the group's
thoughts on the pros & cons of each
My present OS is XP

Windows XP is actually Windows 5.1, while Windows 2000 is
Windows 5.0.

Basically, XP is an enhanced/modified version of 2000 that isn't
purely designed for Corporate/Enterprise use. XP comes in two
versions Home and Professional Home edition was created, so
Microsoft could have both Corporate & Home editions using the
same code base and retire the 9X/ME product line.

So on a $-per-$ versus features, you're better off with XP since
it is the latest flavor.
