Windows 2000 message "the product WindowsServer is out of licences

i am recieving this error messages stating "the product WindowsServer is out
of licences" I find this meesage in the event viewer after having to reboot
the server cause of lock ups and very slow performance. does anyone have an
idea on how to fix this..please help...i am the new admin and im looking for
advice..thank you
