Windows 2000 KB824146 patch slows down some PCs

I loaded this patch(KB824146) on almost 50 windows 2000
clients and 2 PCs out of those are taking very long to
reach the server while starting up. But if I do not plug
the network cable, then it runs normal. I have also tried
to start them after removing this hotfix patch but it does
not help.It is still slow.I also tried to reinstall user's
profile but it did not help. Can someone please help?

Check the ipconfig/all from the clients. Does everything point to your
server-IP?
