Hi Adi,
Are you sure you don't have any infection?
If not, try a couple of Cmd Prompt commands.
Click Start
Run...
"type" sfc /scannow <enter>
(you may need your W2K OS installation CD)
After it is complete. Boot your pooter.
Click Start
Run...
"type" chkdsk /r <enter>
It will say that it cannot complete until reboot.
Click OK
Restart your pooter, and it will run the "checkdisk"
(similar to scandisk in like 98)
This will take maybe 15 minutes.
After it complete and enters W2K okay, reboot again.
Then try to see if your search menu works correctly.
If not, ask someone how to do a "repair install"
If that doesn't get it, ask someone how to do an "Inplace Upgrade"
If that doesn't get it, get ready to Format.

Windows is Stuck when Entering the Search from the start
menu.
If I entered "My Computer" and pressed on Search button -
Search works OK!
