Windows 2000 account expiry date

We have windows 2000/Active directory SP4. There couple of
issues I need help with
1. The users are not prompted that their password is about
to exoire (14 days). The flaog user prompt to change
password is set to 14 days in the local and the domain
level. The overrun option is checked. Please help

2. When users change their password the expiry date is not
reset to 3 months. Please help

In each user account is the "Password never expires"
checkbox checked? This will essentially override any
policies ( IIRC ). If that is the case please uncheck
that checkbox.
