Windows 2000 a hub and Win95

Hello,

I have a Windows 2000 system going through 10/100 switch connected to
a Windows 98se machine and a Windows 95 machine. The Windows 95
machine has a 10/100 card in it.

The 2000 and 98se have 10/100 ethernet cards.

The connection from the 2000 to 98se machine transfer rate is very
fast - and they are in the same workgroup.

I plugged a Windows 95 laptop (from another workgroup) into the
switch, did a FIND on the computer name - when it popped up, I could
see it's diretories. The folder I was tranferring to had over 6 gigs
of space (on the Windows 95 machine), yet the Windows 2000 computer
saw it as 1.99 Gigs.

I tried transferring files to it and it took forever. A 1 kb file
took no time. A 150k files took 30 minutes. Plus when I looked at
the Windows 95 machine during the transfer - it always said the size
of the file was 0 bytes. It never increased.

Any reason why the transfer rate is so slow?

You may want to check the link speed and duplex settings on the Win95 PC.
Make sure it's consistent with the PCs not having the problem.
