Windowns NT Policies

Policies had been created on our PDC. It crashed and we
promoted our BDC. I opened Policy Editor and there aren't
any policies there. I did a search for *.POL and nothing
was found. I checked some of the client workstations and
the policies are still in place. How can I start from
scratch and remove the old policies when I can't find the
file?

The ntconfig.pol file should be there. Make sure your search includes hidden
and system files.

if you have lost the file, then you will need to refer to your documentation
(I know, I am going out on a limb here).

The big problem with old NT system policies is that they don't match with
new AD GPOs. Meaning, they change different parts of the Registry. You might
need to create custom ADM templates that back those old NT system policy
settings off.
