When I search for a file using the search function (start - search - all
files & folders), XP remember my recent searches. How do I delete the record
of previous searches?

Hi,

I'm not sure that there is an option in Windows Explorer but in registry
under the key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant\ACMru\5603

You've got what did you look for before. Delete entries and run explorer.exe
again (I mean kill its process or e.g. log out and login again).

There is a spyware removal tool called Ad-aware by Lavasoft
(http://www.lavasoft.de) which allow you to eradicate spyware as well as to
wipe out these type of lists. Give that a try.
