What is this with Vista Home Premium not remembering window sizes??
Is there a trick to it? Am I doing something wrong?? Is there a fix for
this
or must I wait until the next version of Windows.

I don't know. I use Vista Ultimate. It remembers window sizes. Which
windows are you talking about?

The usual fix is to open IE and size the window manually, then close with
File>Exit, not the red X. This isn't Vista-specific.

If that doesn't fix it for you, post in the IE newsgroup:

microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

That worked ok with Pictures from the start menu (which opened as a child
window)
but not the IE window.
I'll see what I can find in the Internet Explore ng.

Thanks,

Size the window the way you like, then hold down the shift key as you use
the mouse to close the red X.

That usually works.

or Google for Auto Sizer
it's free

Or open IE, drag to the right size, open another IE, drag also to the right
size, close the first window, and close the second window.

Now I believe something is amiss in Merging reg files.
When I right clock on the reg file and select Merge the Run box appears.
I click run and notepad opens the file for editing. Is this normal?
If it is then it didn't work

Didn't work

If you closed it using the red "X" in the upper-right corner, it won't
hold. You need to close it by right-clicking its task bar button and
then select CLOSE.

I re-associated reg files with regedit.exe and double clicked
Restore_Folder_View.reg. The messages I recieved gave me every indication
that the contents were added to the registry. But I now don't have a Merge
in
the context menu when I right click. (normal) The windows still don't want
to remember their size. The file is a web site I have sent to the desktop.
I've tried right clicking and selecting close, I've held down the ctl key
while closing.,
Held down the shift key while closing next I'll grab my....... maybe that'll
work. It
hasen't the last 5 years.
