Earlier when I would start Excel, it would open up in a
maximized window.

Something happened in between, and now when I open Excel
it starts in a non-maximized mode, and I have to click on
the maximize button to make it full-screen (maximized).

How can I reset the default setting so that when I open
Excel it opens in Maximized mode? I believe it is a
general windows question and nothing to do with excel, but
since I am a novice and since I faced this problem with
excel, I am putting the question on this forum.

Also, it can be interesting to know what causes my earlier
default to change?

Next time you open it, maximize the view, then select File, Close. Then
close Excel. Now opening it in the future you should see it maximized.
