Window Live Messenger Crashes

I installed the new final version of windows live messenger and now everytime
I log in it loads up the messenger window then the today window (, about 2
seconds later it crashes "windows live messenger has encountered a problem
etc"

I have tried unistalling and installing version 7.5 but the problem persists
and I have had to revert to windows messenger...

Any help most appriciated

Greetings Paul,

You could try completely removing your contact cache store.

To do so, shut down Messenger, then clicking Start, then
Run, type:
%appdata%\Microsoft

Right-click the MSN Messenger folder and choose Delete. Then restart Messenger and see if
the problem has been corrected.

I have been having the same problem, Messenger Live logs into the
service, then it freezes as soon as I click anywhere in the program.
Tried deleting the client cache but it did not resolve the problem.

Interestingly, if I unplug my network cable, messenger unfreezes and
will re-login if I reconnect the cable, but again, as soon as I click
anywhere in the program it freezes again.

Try disabling MDM, it worked for me. Event Viewer kept on showing a dcom
error whenever I had this problem or when I'd try loading up the Services
window and get a 2 minute delay before it appeared.

Once I disabled debugging, the problems all went away. In IE, go to
Internet Options-Advanced Tab-Disable Script Debugging(check this, or both if
there are two types) and it should hopefully work for you like it did me.

Hi,

I tried disabling MDM and the script debugging boxes are already ticked. So
I checked the error loggs and this is what it says for the error:

The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Windows Live Messenger )
cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry
information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer.
You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see
Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event:
msnmsgr.exe, 8.0.792.0, 4493215b, ieframe.dll, 7.0.5346.5, 443f4164, 0,
000c3094.

Not sure if that means anything to anybody.

Is there any way that it could be stopped from running other than in the
registry as I have checked there and it isn't dissabled,

Windows Messenger still works

Okay I have now fixed this.

I unistalled windows live messenger, uninstalled the beta 2 version of IE7.
Then I reinstalled the final version of windows live messenger and the Beta 3
version of IE.

it's all working fine now.
