window freezes

At first the movie maker window only froze the odd time, but now it is freezing on me sometimes after only one addition to my work. This is really delaying me in getting work done. Can you please advice PapaJohn. I am a relative beginner to computers, plus a senior so if you can be gentle in your explanation I would be grateful :) do hope you can help me.
