I am running Windows XP and Windows Explorer is slow to open (takes
about 5 minutes). Works fine after it is open and there is no propblem
with any of the other programs on the machine. I open it by right
clicking on the Start Button. I would appreciate any help on this
issue. TIA
Is this a sudden problem or has it been this way for awhile? If sudden what
changed between the time it worked ok and now? Have you tried a system
restore to a time when things worked ok?
What happens if you open Windows Explorer by another means? Double click My
Computer on the desktop, or from Start | run | explorer | OK?
Does it happen in all accounts? Try a different account.
What happens in safe mode?
Do a clean boot. Does it happen then?
