window enlargement

sometimes in windows xp when opening any type of media file the window
enlarges to where you can only see a portion of that window---have to
re-boot to correct---anyone seen this before???
 
Does your monitor have a "zoom" feature? Mine does. It could be a matter of
your monitor acting up.
