Window Closes automatically

If I go to the "Add/Remove Programs" through "Control Panel", the window
will abruptly close after about 5 seconds. If I attempt to go back to the
page it continues to display and then closes again after around 5 seconds.

I have the current Virus Scan software and have recently scanned my system,
I have also checked for spam and spyware with no hits.

I'm running XPPro SP2 with all the current updates applied.

Any suggestions?
