I took the HD (160) out of my Win 98 machine and put it in
my W2K machine so that I can copy all my kids homework
over. The Master/Slave is set up correctly. I can see
the HD, it's in 2 partitions, I can assign drive letters
to it, but when I try and open it, I can't. It says it is
not formatted. Under "My Computer" it is listed as
a "Local Drive".

What am I doing wrong? This drive has my daughter's
college application essays on it, and I need to get to
them!

TIA
Kim

I don't know what's wrong with your hard disk but
I believe it would be far easier to install a network
adapter in each machine, connect the two PCs
with a cross-over cable and copy the files across
like this.

Thank you. I will try that tonight.
