Win2k SP4 and RPC Patches

Hello

We are deploying Win2k SP4 to computers that have been
patched with RPC patches MS03-026 and MS03-039. Do we need
to reapply that MS03-039 patch? Most of the machines were
at Win2k SP2.

It had been brought to our attention that a machine with
SP4 recently installed that was previously patched was
tried to be infected by the welchia worm. The anti-virus
software caught it.

We did run the Microsoft RPC scanner against some machines
that were patched and recently had SP4 installed, and they
still showed as being patched.

No.

SP4's update.exe will know that your version of RPCSS.DLL, RPCRT4.DLL and
OLE32.DLL are newer then its versions. Therefore, they will not be
replaced.
