win2K mapping drive flaky & intermittent

mapping drives is flaky and intermittent. From my
other PCs (win2k) I can map the same servers w/o problems.
I thought it was a bug. I ran Symantec and it found some bugs and then
I deleted the files, but the problem persists.

Access to the net is also flaky, but as bad as just mapping the drives.

using System Information ...
software environmet
Network Connections

it reads that my status is degraded for the connection mapped to the F drive.

Any recommendations?

What error messages? What happens?

my explorer started getting flaky when I map drives from other PCs or from a
Network data server.

It maps them (as it always did) but goes in and out of connection. so I
might be browsing the directories and then explorer quits and when I look at
my mapped files it shows an X as if its disconnected.

SSH secure file transfer program refuses the connection to a server in the
same
subnet.

I am having the same/similar issue. I have a user that has a couple of
mapped drives. At times she is not able to connect. She can go to the
Network Neighborhood and click on the shared folder and she is okay. The
drives look as if they are not connected (a red x on the drive). I try to
disconnect and I cannot. I get an error message saying that the path cannot
be found. I also have noted that the drive letter is not available when I
try to map a new drive (weird). Have you found a solution yet?
