WIN2K keeps rebooting

My nephew brought me his system and said that all he did
was click on the Windows Update message and his system
will not do anything but restart over and over. I have
tried the win2k recovery and repair. Did the fixmbr and
fixboot to see if that helps. Nothing. Any suggestions?
 
But was it a genuine MS update msg?
Are you able to start the sys at all? then AV scan
