I have Windows 2000, SP4 computer with all MS security
updates and latest drivers installed. Everything worked
fine for a pretty long time, than I started to notice some
anomalies:
1. When I try to shutdown the machine, it reboots instead.
2. Several icons (MS IntelliMouse, ATI desktop, 3Com NIC
Doctor and some others) which setup to appear on taskbar
with every OS' startup fail to start with Windows start
up. After computer finishes booting up I could manualy
start them though.
3. In the Application Log I found Warning Event ID # 4106
with each and every startup. Description of the event:
Sourve: EventSystem; Category: Event Service
Description: The COM+ Event System detected a corrupt
IEventSubscrition object. The COM+ Event System has
removed ID {A26A32FC-9cfe-47d2-8998-E931E0D8E306}. The
subscriber will no longer be notified when the even occurs.
What may cause the problem? I would prefer to avoid
reinstall of Windows (I have so much installed on it now)
to resolve the problem. Or it is the only option?
Thank you for any help,
Victor
