This evening I've been upgrading software on computers in
my office. On two computer workstations running Windows
2000 Professional, during an upgrade to Service Pack 4, I
received a warning that it couldn't locate the file
crssrv.dll. I searched for the file on the computer and
couldn't find it, and didn't have my original CDs handy,
so I tried to cancel the installation. Like an idiot, I
just clicked through the warnings that Windows may not
work properly if I stop then without that file. (It
wouldn't let me cancel any other way.)
Now, when I boot the computers, after the loading Windows
screen it displays a message that it can't find that file
in a host of paths it's searching, then it reboots, and
loops. I've tried booting to Safe Mode, but get the same
thing.
When I was installing, chose the Archive option, but I'm
not getting far enough into Windows to to try a retrieval.
Getting desperate. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
