I am running win2k Server and am using the built in
software mirroring. Yesterday I recieved the following
error:
dmio: Fail to reassign bad block(s) on disk Harddisk1:
error 0xc0000010
at the same time this error popped up:
The device, \Device\Harddisk1\DR1, has a bad block
I am assuming this Drive is going to need replacment soon.
I have the new drive ready to replace this one but have
some question's in regards to the actual proccess. I am
familar with hardware RAID and hot swapping etc. My
question is what is the procedure for replacing this drive
prior to it failing? Also what is the procedure if and
when it does fail?
Is it as simple as removing the failed/going to fail IDE
drive and letting the software handel the rest? Any help
or links to how this procedure works is greatly
appreciated.
Thanks in advance.....
