Win2000 Server Error in WinXP Pro

I am having trouble with slow browsing with IE 6.0 Win XP Pro SP2. Have
wireless router with 3 computers, but have made no attempt to network these.
I got a message in the Event Viewer today that says in part:

"The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer
TOSHIBA-USER that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on
transport NetBT_Tcpip_{B20EEE5C-5324-4. The master browser is stopping or an
election is being forced."

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MRxSmb
Event Category: None
Event ID: 8003

I am directed to the Windows 2000 Server Support site - a complete mystery
to me as this is all within my home. I am further concerned since the Tohsiba
User is my wife (we are online at the same time), also running XP Pro and
IE6.0 and there is no network intentionally set up between these two
computers and no Server2000 ever installed on any computer. I am concerned
about an intrusion. There is some info on a couple of previous threads about
this type of event, but today is the first time I have seen this message and
these two computers have been set up through the wireless router for a couple
of years. Can I fix this? It also might explain why the third computer
(newest, a desktop) runs very slow online. Any ideas how to fix this?

This has nothing to do with browsing the Internet. You can eliminate the
messsage by setting the Computer Browser service to manual start in
Administrative Tools/Services.

Thanks for the info. This computer is already set to manual in computer
browser service. FYI, I received the error message in question 7 times in 7
hours on 6/23. Before this week, I have never seem this at all in the Event
Viewer, System Events. Maybe you mean that the "competing computer" needs to
be set to manual. I haven't checked this. The Toshiba has XP Pro SP1, this
computer has XP Pro SP2. I cannot file share with the Toshiba as a network
was never set up. Any more ideas?

Well, I had the impression that you were not interested in file sharing
since you "have made no attempt to network
these." If this is the case, then -Yes, set the Computer Browser service to
manual on TOSHIBA-USER.
