Win XP Pro

We have a small business network (4 users). All run Win
2000 except one with Win XP Pro (new machine). We use
Internet Explorer to access the Net. We have been
advised that with the latest NetThreat via IE, we should
upgrade all users to XP Pro and download SP2 as soon as
available. Otherwise we are unnecessarily vulnerable to
attack. Before buying three add'l licenses, I'd like to
know if this is absolutely necessary or just advisable.
Thank you in advance for your comments.

If you are connected by a router (with NAT) you have a built in firewall.
Assuming you have installed Critical updates on ALL machines, run antivirus
regularly on ALL machines, run spyware software (Spybot AND Ad-Aware) on ALL
machines regularly, you should be just fine.
You may wish to restrict Internet access to some users through the router,
if practical and establish clear rules about Internet use among the 4 users.
NO downloads, no newsgroups, etc etc.

Thank you Alan. Sounds like we are already doing
precisely what we should do. Appreciate the clear
advice. JEC
