Win XP Pro CD Contents Listing

OK, whenever I buy an OS, the first thing I do is make a backup copy and
store the original cd in the box where it won't get damaged, scratched, etc.

I have heard that when you copy xp pro, not all files get copied in the I386
folder.

Where can I get a directory tree and file listing of the XP Pro CD Contents
just
to make sure that everything is okay? Otherwise, I will be carrying around
the
$299 cd in my tech briefcase.

If you use a third party burning application, it will make an exact bootable
copy. Try downloading Padus Diskjuggler's trial version. It is limited to
lowest speed and 700mb, but will make a perfect copy of the CD.

Using a CD copy program, such as CD Creator 6.0, copy the windows XP CD to
another. Then do a compare between the 2 CD's. See if they are the same.

If you do a correct copy of the CD as a whole, using say Nero or Clone
CD, *all* the files will get copied. You have heard something very
misleading, if not actually false
