OK i have a friends computer that I am trying to get running for him.
It is a build it yourself kind. I and trying to load windows xp on it.
While it is loading all the drivers to try and start installing it
reboots on me. I have taken out the memory and tryed my own in it and
still the same problem. I also tryed using my hard drive witch i know
works and it reboots every time at the loading screen with the moving
bar at the bottom. i have looking in BIOS and made sure it was booting
from cd and then hard disk and then hard disk alone but still it
reboots at the same point. I also put my video card in it to see if
that would help.... still no luck. He doesnt know what kind of mother
board it is nor does he know what prosseror it is. from looks and BIOS
i can tell its a P4 2.8. with 2 gig or mem and a ati r9550 in the agp
slot. Please help me. Im about to take a bat to it.

lol i feel like bashing mine somedays too, if u look on the motherboard u
will c a large number, type this inot goodle and search from there.

ok i tried a new hard drive and stated to install windows from a cd. It
loads the drivers and busses but right when it say starting microsoft
windows it reboots.

Install all your friends CPU peripherals in your PC then try installing
Windows XP. If you can install it successfully in your PC, then I think
there's a problem with his board.
