Hello, this message is for anyone that can advise an XP
problem I have.

My computer suddenly started restarting itself. It looks
like it is getting ready to load as the Windows XP screen
comes up with the little bar at the bottom going across.

Then it blanks out, shows a blue screen with some white
text at the top, then restarts. I need help breaking this
restart cycle.

I've read a bit on the net about it and the only advice
given seems to gear towards working with the desktop start
button...but I cannot get there =(

If someone can give me guidance I will forever appreciate
it. Thank you!

Thank you for your help; however, I did try completely
shutting down and it doesn't fix the problem =( I do have
a feeling it is a virus/worm... however, I cannot follow
microsoft's instructions for the sassar worm because I
cannot even get to my desktop through safe mode.

Thanks again for your help.

Hello, a friend of mine is having same problem.. She shut
down system completely including turning off monitor, for
about 5 minutes. Then try to restart, if after restart
success go to your antivirus and run a check , an infected
file or two was found when she did this , we are waiting
for final results.

You might try flashing the bios. It worked for me one
time when I had a similar problem. You also should go to
a dos prompt (C:) and type in chkdsk /r. This will fix
any problems you may have on your C drive.
