Win XP & Firefox problem

I just updated from Win 98 to XP Pro and the Firefox browser now comes
up as a scrambled B&W page ???

I un-installed Firefox and re-installed the current download, but the
Firefox browser comes up scrambled again. IE & NS 7.1 work OK though.

Any suggestions out there?

um ... just a guess. Win98 and Win XP Pro use different builds of
software -- but I could be wrong. Try downloading a fresh copy of
Firefox and make sure you are installing from that fresh setup file
(sometimes when Firefox downloads to a default location, one can miss
the fresh downloaded file and just install an older one).

Shouldn't be a problem though. So, uninstall the previous Firefox,
remove all previously downloaded setup files, download a fresh Firefox
setup file, and install that one.
