Hi, recently my computer started to automatically reboot itself to an
infinite loop when I am running cimple applications (email, video, etc.). I
disabled the auto restart when system failure option and the error msg that I
keep getting is the following:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Stop: 0X0000000A

or

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Stop: 0X000000D1

I looked around on the web about this issue and it seem most of them points
to a faulty driver on my computer. However, I did not add any new drivers on
my comp recently and have no clue as what is causing this problem. Any help
with this would be greatly apprectiated.

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click
on the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties,
Advanced, StartUp and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck
box before Automatically Restart.

Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure until you have
resolved the problem. Check for variants of the Stop Error message.

There will also be Error Reports in Event Viewer. Please post copies.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&Product=winxp

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report
complete with links into the message. Make sure this is the first paste
after exiting from Event Viewer.

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties. Hardware,
Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

Try Start, Run, type "sigverif.exe" without quotes and hit OK. What drivers
are listed as unsigned? Disregard those which are not checked.

Hope this helps.

There is a yellow question mark in my device manager for a Multimedia Audio
Controller under Other Devices. It says that the driver for the device is not
installed, the error code is 28. I don't know what's the manufacturer for
that device and have no idea on how to find the driver for it.

I ran the sigverif.exe and it came out with a buch of files that are not
digitally signed. However, I can't distinguish which one are driver and which
are not.

"Multimedia Audio Controller under Other Devices"

What happens if you right click on this item and select Properties?

"However, I can't distinguish which one are driver and which are not."

Select Start, Run, type "sigverif" without quotes and click OK. Click
on Advanced button, and on Search tab check box before "Notify me
if any System files are not signed". Select log tab and check box
before "Save the file signature results to a log file" and "Overwrite
existing log file".

Note the View Log button here as you can always return here to look
at the log.

Please a list of the unsigned files.

The properties on device manager for the device with error shows the following:
Device type: Other devices
Manufacturer: Unknown
Location: PCI bus 0, device 6, function 0
device status: The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)

Like I said, I tried to install the driver for this device but since I don't
know the manufacturer or even what this device actually is I have no idea
where to look. I also tried to disabled this device but it still didn't stop
the computer from crashing.

I tried what you told me to do in sigverif.exe and I received the following
msg:
"Your files have been scanned and verified as digitally signed."
When i went back to the view log button the text file shows no unsigned
file. Perhaps I was running the .exe at a different setting earlier.
