Win XP Check-Disk

Hi Everybody,

I ran win check-Disk (scandisk) the other day, it reported no roblems,but
now it runs everytime i boot my machine!! As you can imagine this is a real
nuisance, but how do i prevent this. I checked C:/properties/tools but there
does'nt seem to be any way to switch it off. Any help would be appreciated,
