Win XP cannot detect the network adapter

M

Mehmet Ersue

Hi,

On my notebook with WinXP the network card is not
detected and the network adapter is not loaded
if the connected wireless router has no power.
As a consequence there is no network icon in the
network connections window.
The situation does not change if I switch on the router.

Since there is no active network adapter activating the
service "Networking Connections" or using "ipconfig /renew"
is no help.

How can I let the notebook detect the network adapter
and load the necessary drivers after powering on the
router?

I know rebooting helps here but it is annoying and I would
like to find a technical solution instead of rebooting
frequently.

Thank you for any hint in advance.
:)Merry Christmas:)

Start, Network Connections, then click on your applicable connection to
start/enable it. If that does not work then make sure the router is powered
up before booting.

Probably, bug in the driver. Look if there is updated driver on the
vendor's site.
