win xp bootdisk

Hi, I tried to make a boot disk cd for winxp sp2 with Nero express 6. I dont
have a floppy disk anyway when the disk boots to dr-dos A: and I cant get to
anything on the cd. So I have a slipstreamed win xp cd but it wont boot. How
would I do a fresh Install or fix the cd. TIA \P

Go into the BIOS and set it too look for the OS on the CD drive and not
the floppy drive first?

Then you must have stuffed up the slipstreaming.

How would I do a fresh Install or fix the cd.

Just do the slipstreaming again, properly.

If you made the slipstreamed XP/sp2 disk correctly with Nero 6 then you
should be able to get it to boot if you have set the bios to boot with the
CD-ROM drive first. If it won't boot then either there's something wrong
with the new disk you've made, or the bios won't allow starting with the
CD-ROM (it's going to be a very old computer ) or there's a bug in the bios
that says it will start but it really won't.
I'd suggest re-making the disk.

As somebody else said, if the slipstreamed copy doesn't work, then you
did it incorrectly. Redo a new slipstream copy and try again.

If you can boot to an A: with a bootable CD then you probably have
made a slipstreamed CD that is not bootable.

You need to find the drive letter of your CD ROM drive. Once you get
to a [drive:] prompt, type dir and enter. When it shows the contents
of your CD you have the correct drive.

CD i386 will take you to the directory with the winnt.exe file.

Type winnt.exe and you should start the installation.

To fix the CD...use google and search for "bootable CD", "slipstream",
etc.

If you don't find a step by step guide for Nero repost here. I don't
have time this morning to locate a procedure for you but I do have a
good reference.

There's a section detailing some hidden files you need to copy over
from the original CD to make the slipstreamed copy bootable as the
original.

treat and won't confuse you with DOS sessions.
