Win MM with Creative WebCam NX Pro

I have a Creative Webcam NX Pro, that I want to use as a video input device.
However when I start a new Movie Project and select it as a vide input
device, Windows Movie Maker just freezes (or hangs) and does not respond to
anything. I have to hard-reboot my machine to kill it!

I have re-tried many times, after checking connections etc. but I am not
able to solve this issue.
The web-cam works fine with MSN and Yahoo messengers.

The version of Movie Maker (from the about screen) is 2.1.4026.0

Can some one help me with this?

Thanks in advance

Hello,
I did tried to recreate with similar set-up and it is possible to use a WebCam --- very convenient and instantly make a home
movie. I can post what setting I set but let us first figure out as to why MM2.1 frozen.

1. I knew MM2.1 required all new set of drivers especially for your Creative Webcam. http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/

2. Test this first: Disconnect the webcam and all other connection especially from your camera. Now, open MM2.1 and see if it can
play a saved Project Movie.

3. Even though is frozen --- do NOT do anything BUT wait until it finally come up. If it come out right then the next time will be
more faster.

4. If the same problem come out --- MM2.1 need to trouble-shoot deeply.

Tell us what happen,
