win-explorer & USB memory stick

Dear help,

I am working windows XP home edition (dutch version) and I
recently bought the "handy" 512M Apacer Handy steno USB1.1
memory stick. As soon as I plug the thing the windows
explorer crashes (Explorer.exe version: 6.0.2800.1106
crashed, the module that crshed is wininet.dll version:
6.0.2800.1106, at 0x0001dc15). Each time the same error.
Furthermore it reports that the USB host-controller is not
of the same speed as the stick and that thus it may not
work properly. An USB memory stick should work under XP.
Do I need an update of the driver and where do I get it or
what?

Yes, it's likely a driver issue, you would need to check with Apacer.
Drivers are entirely the responsibility of the device manufacturer.
