Win 2k to WinXP remote log in question.

Hi,

Is it possible to connect remotely to a computer running Windows 2000 from a
computer running Windows XP? I ask because my mother will every now and then
press the wrong key combination and change settings on her computer.

It would be great if I could log into her Windows 2000 computer from my
Windows XP computer over my DSL connection and be able to take a look see for
myself. Is this possible without having to install any third party software?

We are located in different states which is another reason why this would be
most helpful.

Hello Jim,

You can use a third party software (freeware) like VNC. Works fine.

Although it technically does install a little bit of software, I think
you will be happy with http://www.logmein.com.

They have a free service that is just what you need. Installing the
software is so simple, you can guide her over the phone.
