I began using win 2k about 2 months ago. Recently the
system has begun to hang. I've noticed it especially in
IE6. I've run Norton 2002 virus, defragged drive, cleaned
out temp internet files etc. but still hanging. Stumped!

Hi Richard,

You can run an external virus scan, and if all
okay. Try loading I.E. 6 SP1 over the top. And make
sure you have all the correct drivers.

It's hard to figure out from the limited
information, what it can be, but we can do a few
things that may help.

Was your installation a Clean Install or and
upgrade?
If an upgrade, from what did you upgrade?
If it is a clean Install, what SP are you running?
What do have from Windows Update (Hotpatches)?

If an upgrade, I suggest you do an "inplace
upgrade", if you know that you meet the hardware
requirements for W2K.

Could there be a problem with the way my partitioned
drives swap files are set up? It ran fine for weeks but is
locking up on a regular basis now.
