Win 2K extremely slow

I have been experiencing a very slow machine. Boot up
takes almost half hour. CPU usage is constantly at 100%.
CPU time is mainly used by mscfg32, svchost (PID-404) and
lsassw (PID-1172).

In addition, I have been unable to install Norton
Anti-virus,any Windows updates (including SP4.0). I am not
also able to access microsoft update webpage (other pages
are ok), and symantec's websites.

Any thoughts and help is appreciated.

Sounds like you have a virus to me. Try going to
Symantec's website and run some of the virus rempval tools
there.
