Win 2000 upgrade, modem is not detected

i recently upgraded from win 98 to win 2000 pro. i
reinstalled all drivers from motherboard disk for all that
weren't included on win 2000 disk but i still can't get
the modem to work. within the device manager i get an
excloamation by other devices, PCI simple communications
controller. it also states that the modem is not detected,
could the modem be the problem? please help as this
problem is baffling me. thankyou

You can remove the modem to find out. Check the hardware manufacturer's web
site for the latest Windows 2000 driver for your device.
