Win 2000 shut down incomplete

I just performed an upgrade installation of Win2000 on a
Win98 networked workstation. The machine would shut down
normally from Win98, but since the upgrade it stops at a
Win2000 screen that says "..it is now safe to turn off
your computer" and then the on/off switch must be held
pressed and held until the machine stops. Otherwise the
upgrade install was surprisingly without incident.

Can anyone tell me what this is about?
Thanks

Bill

Hi Bill-

Provided your BIOS is ACPI compliant you may simply need to update your
motherboard's BIOS. Check with your vendors website for recent updates or
specific info regarding operating with 2000 and above.
