AFAIK, WMP 12 is still in beta. Expected release is October 22, the same
date as Windows 7. You can do a Google search and find a workaround to
get WMP 12 to work with XP, but I'd wait a few weeks.

Bear in mind that Windows 7 (and WMP12) has *already* been released to
manufacturing. I'm running the RTM versions of both here.

What will happen on October 22 is that it will be available for
purchase.
