I just got a laptop the other day with a wireless card.
The computer has and internal NIC. The first day I got
it, I installed my DSL through the NIC and everything was
ok. The next day my wife took it to school to connect to
the wireless network they have set up. She said she had
to just play around with it for a while but she got it to
work.
Now is where the trouble starts. She brings it home and
I hook up the ethernet cable and now our DSL connections
will ONLY try to connect through WAN miniport. I have
spent hours myself and an hour with Dell support and it's
still not fixed. I have tried deleting the drivers for
the WAN card, deleting and setting up a new connection,
everything I can think off. Is there somewhere in XP
that you can select a default device to connect with. I
am pulling out my hair over this. PLEASE someone help
me!!
