Will not show any of my typing

Try as I might Excel will not show any of my typing in a new workbook. I
opened an existing workbook with the same results. (if does show the
information). Word and other programs allow my typing
Any help?
 
Make sure that the colour of your font is not the same as the background
colour of your cells.
