Will MFC be used to encapsulate future versions of Windows API?

Same question as the subject and that is will MFC be used to 'wrap' future
versions of Windows API or will the .NET framework 1.1 be the replacement?

As far as I know, MFC is one of those technologies which are _done_, i.e.
they will see no new enhancements but will continue to work as-is for some
time.

At some level, Avalon _may_ be the successor to MFC. That's just a guess,
though.

Yeah, MFC is something like "brain dead": not really dead but not really
