After installing a spyware detector, it keeps warning me that "WILDTangent has been detected working in memory". As WILDTangent also appears on my Control Panel, is it safe to remove or will it affect the running of any other programs?

Wildtangent is for an online gaming package installed on

your system,(Probility by the MFG,it came preinstalled on
my system) it is considered spyware, also it connects to
the internet to report (they claim its an update check)I
believe every 15 minutes by default,if you are using
dialup this will slow down your connection.
The only thing removing this will effect will be the
games associated with it.

Some DVD's install WT when you access "special features" on them. I think it
was either MiB or Spiderman DVD, the extras section of the DVD had a PC
screensaver. You install the screensaver and the WT program is installed
too. Dont know if its spyware though, I would go by the reply of the
previous person.

While some of the Wild Tangent technology has been classified as spyware,
legitimate portions are installed and used by some games that include
online play options. May want to delve into this a bit deeper. Suggest
reading up on Wild Tangent. Then figure out what games you have installed
that may require this. If none or you don't use this feature of game play,
uninstall it. If you do play online, you'll want to keep an eye on this to
be sure it stays restricted to the "good" parts of Wild Tangent.

it is spyware ,reports games played how long etc. the
wildtangent web driver(needed to play) is the spyware
portion of it . notice that you need administrator to
activate.....
