Can you use wildcard characters, like a *, in rules to
have it look for other things in front of or behind the
criteria? Does this happen automatically? Help!

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your posting here.

Based on my knowledge, the wildcard characters are supported in Outlook
rules. You can use the wildcard characters when defining the "specific
words" of the rule.

Have a nice day!

Thanks & Regards

Would it be the standard * character, or something
different? Also, do you know if you set up a rule to look
at specific words, will it look inside phrases? For
example, if I set up a rule that is for ??? in the subject
and delete it, will it delete it if someone sends a
subject of ????!???. I don't think it does, but I wanted
to ask the expert.

Thanks for your help.

In spite of what Alan Sun said, I don't believe wildcards are supported in
rules.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your posting.

I am sorry there is a mistake in my previous reply. Unfortunately, the
Wildcard Characters are not supported in Outlook rule. Your understanding
is appreciated.

Also, it will look inside the words or phrased, when you configure a rule.
For example, set a rule with specific words "test" in the subject, it will
work when the subject contains "test", "tests", "testing", "pretest", etc.

If anything is unclear, just post back to let me know.

Thanks & Regards
