Wild Tangent software - what is it

hello,

i just ran spybot search and destroy.
a program called WildTangent came up as something that needs to be removed.i
removed it with the spybot tool and rebooted.
when i logged back on and ran spybot again, the same file came up. i'm not
sure how to really get it off my computer now.

the 2 directories that come up are
c:\winnt\wt\updater
c:\winnt\wt\updates

there are also 2 registry entries for this

any help would be greatly appreciated.

what is freaking me out is that i have never installed any games.
this strangeness - the fan on my laptop staying on forever didn't start
until right after i installed the aol instant messenger update today.

i finally figured out how i got this. i installed the latest aol im update
today.

it was a mess to remove.

The fan business is likely a side effect of the 100% CPU usage you noted
in another posting.

i think you are right. once i was able to get those files off of my
computer, the fan resumed it's normal behavior.
