Wild characters in parameter query

I am trying to use wild characters in parameter query.
Trying to sort on text field consisting of two letters and
another symbol (letter or number). Example: have AB1, ABs,
ABx, etc. I want the query to return all records with
letters AB* . The "*" does not work, it shows no records.

Are you using the LIKE operator? Your criteria should look something like:

LIKE [Enter letters:] & "*"
