Wierd survey page when connecting to the net

Mike

I have been trying to solve this problem for a while now. I have already
used spybot, ada-ware, spyware, and every malware removal software there is
out there, to no avail. (Norton anti-virus desn't find anything)

It goes like this:

As soon as I connect to the Internet, Internet Explorer qets redirected to
some "sodhell" page, (be carefull, don't go there!), prompting me to take a
survey. Then it tries to download a file (which I of course decline, but
have to use task manager to bring it down if I wait long enough)

It only happens when I first connect to the net.

If anybody can help me I would be really (I mean really!!!!!) thankfull...

He appears to have a rogue DNS server or something of that nature --
entry no. 17 on the Hijack This log IIRC, as another poster alluded to.
The home page may have been hijacked as well, or a valid entry is
simply resolving to an unwanted IP address.

This entry ...

O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Windws Services] svost32.exe

....is clearly spurious. I'd delete it, after backing up the registry.

Thank you Larry. I deleted it, the problem hasn't come back. I also delete
the file, and ran some registry fixing software. (Registry Mechanic)
