Wierd NetBIOS name changes

Hi,

I have a system on my network that is acting really
wierd. The netbios name keeps changing. I get a
different result each time I do a nbtstat -A on the IP
address.

I thought it looked like a virus, but scanned the system
online at Symantec's site, I've scanned the system
locally with current dat's and it comes back clean. I've
applied all the MS patches , but the problem still exists.

Hi,

What happens if you go to the troubled XP client and run nbtstat -n several
times does the name still change or does it remain the same? If it remains
the same - is it plugged into a switch? Try moving it to a hub.
